SHABBY CHIC STYLE GUIDE
Shabby chic is a design style used to describe a softer, opulent cottage style; it can describe an overall look or the item itself. Usually items have a weathered, distressed, or aged look (that is why you can often use vintage decor to help create a shabby chic feel). This style works well with pastel colours and whites and creams, unlike the vintage theme which works with most (non-pastel) colours. Items that have a distressed surfaces such as shutters or chalkboards or our MD015a + b lanterns are perfect examples of shabby chic.
